Veterans Aid and Attendance (A&A) is a monthly pension amount paid to a qualifying Veteran or surviving spouse.
A veteran of a branch of service is eligible to apply for benefits. Generally, a Veteran must have at least 90 days of active duty service, with at least one day during a wartime period to qualify for a VA Pension. You may be eligible for A&A if you require the aid of another person in order to perform activities of daily living, or are bedridden, or have a mental or physical incapacity, and you are a patient in a nursing home or assisted living with less than $80,000 in assets.
A surviving spouse of a veteran of a branch of service is eligible to apply for benefits, if they have remained unmarried since the veteran’s death.
